About this deal

Upgraded from a Geforce GTX 660Ti and as soon as I saw my copy of The Witcher 3 running flawlessly on Ultra settings at 1920x1080 with every option enabled I felt the kind of righteous vindication only a man with a brand new graphics card can feel, safe in the knowledge that he has made a good decision! Read more about the seller notes “USED/TESTED GPU: All units are taken from recycled systems and fully cleaned and tested with 3DMark before listing to ensure the product works as intended.

And while the R9 Nano performed well here, the GTX 970 DirectCU Mini stuck fairly close to AMD's compact powerhouse. But just as we said with the R9 Nano, overclocking doesn't make a whole lot of sense with compact cards like these. But like with DSR, the image-quality improvements are the kind you'll notice if you stop and look for them, but not while playing. It is now September 2014 and it is abundantly clear that the 20nm nodes are not yet viable for volume production of wafers with huge transistor counts. Running games at 4K, whether for real on a 4K screen or to pre-render for DSR, takes much more pixel-pushing power than running at 1080p. They mention that it runs all graphics card intensive games at 1080p above 60fps, and is absolutely perfect for gaming on max settings.

You'd have to set the fan curve really low though since it is expecting high rpm from the centrifugal fan. I think it is unfortunate that a couple ITX cases I used were designed around blower cards, especially the Node 202, and they kind of create a self fulfilling prophecy. It's the most I have spent on a graphics card in a long time, and the only thing I want to mark it down for is what you get in the box.
