About this deal

Something stops me from giving this a full five because there were actually a number of things that I'm not a fan of, but I know from past experience that rereading it helps it feel more real, so I might just have to do that, but still.

Literally, because she remembered everything about her past and became Ella, but she also figuratively became her, too. Like I said, I really liked them, but they did tend to feel a little info-dumpy at times and would occasionally fall into the range of too much exposition. They are interrupted by Kenji who tells them to come out to the dining pavilion, and Ella tries to get Aaron to go out to them saying that their friends are waiting for them. I didn't find myself as upset by this as I was the first time(s) I read it, but I don't think the book got any better. And let me tell you this is the most DARK BOOK in this series and I'm saying this because the amount of torture Julliete went through was horrible and it literally made my stomach churn.Anderson being alive was a pet peeve for me because I did not understand why Mafi had to bring back a character they have spent the past three books trying to kill. I swear if she doesn’t give him a decent chance and toys with him I’ll personally scratch her eyes out!

Because who gives a shit about them when Warner and Juliette—oh pardon, Aaron and Ella— are the only ones that can stop the Reestablishment. I don’t know how to explain this but I was kind of disappointed by how it all turned out, yet at the same time I was going with the flow and enjoyed many scenes and parts of the book. She was still heart broken and fragile in this one but she did everything she could to escape from that hell and even murdering people. While it may not be the thrilling, action-packed book I expected, I can’t wait to see where it goes next. So whilst I enjoy character driven books I still would have liked for the plot to have a little bit more substance.
